The name Menscorpore comes from a line of verse written by the Latin poet Juvenal. “Mens sana in corpore sano” means, literally, a healthy mind in a healthy body. By understanding the indelible interdependence between the physical self and the psycho-emotional one, we interpret human health as a dynamic equilibrium. Since its creation in 2014, Menscorpore has offered a variety of different programs targeting physical-emotional and social-relational well-being. The organization is headquartered in Treviglio, east of Milan, our family’s home.

Convivium

This team-building Experience focuses on conviviality, and creates an occasion for taking care of oneself and of each other through the multisensory moment of the meal.

From the menu to the table, the ambiance to the entertainment (whether music, poetry, or game-playing), participants become fully immersed in themselves and in those around them, an experience for both body and soul.

Sharing a table is one of the most ancient social traditions through which we human beings create and reinforce our relationships. Eating together brings us closer together and helps us break through the invisible barriers that can interfere with day-to-day communications.

But the Convivium Experience goes a step further. Together, guests choose the courses they will eat, each complemented by words, music, and images. More than just team-building, this is meal-building. The result is a shared process of design, coordination, and making, and an intense sensation of collectivity.

The Convivium is made up of three phases, and lasts about three hours in total:

Introduction: creation of work teams, each one assigned to one part of the meal (generally antipasto, entrée, main dish, and dessert)

Set up: choosing the specific dishes and drinks, as well as the music, images, and words that will accompany the meal

Convivio: the meal itself

Note that the choice of dishes is made from among those offered by the host restaurant, which is also responsible for the cooking and service. Specific food preferences, including intolerances and allergies, can be accommodated.

A meal is, above all, a phase in a much but not all-embracing process, a node in a network, not exhausting but still touching or embracing the totality of all existence.
